EXPLORING GLASS WITH HOME SCHOOL CHILDREN - February 12 and 19, 2020 This is a two-part collaborative program that explores the arts of glassblowing, mosaics, stenciling and stained glass. FEBRUARY 12 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm at Morris County School of Glass: Part 1: Glassblowing Demonstration Watch as MCSOG’s talented glassblowing artists form and shape a molten blob of glass into a beautiful, functional piece. With their captivating narrative, learn all about the art and science of this unique medium. Part 2: Students choose from the following two activities Glassblowing (ages 8+) Experience glassblowing hands-on by learning how to manipulate 2,100-degree glass into a special keepsake object like a vase, bowl, flower, galaxy globe, heart, ornament or snowman. Mosaics (any age) Learn techniques for cutting & shaping colored glass to create a unique & beautiful mosaic tile. FEBRUARY 19 from 12:00 - 1:30 pm at the Museum of Early Trades and Crafts Pick up your masterpiece and explore the arts of stenciling, stained glass, carving and other artistic elements used to decorate METC’s beautiful and historic building.
